Dräger

Dräger's hospital reputation rests on two areas, and the Auxilmed selection follows it: anaesthesia and ventilation, and neonatal care, across some 20 pre-owned devices., weighted towards two areas the company is best known for in hospitals: anaesthesia and ventilation, and neonatal care. The current selection includes Primus and Zeus IE anaesthesia workstations, Oxylog transport ventilators, Isolette, Caleo and Babyleo incubators, Babytherm infant warmers, vaporisers and phototherapy. Stock comes largely from Dutch hospitals, is tested for functionality and documented per item. Auxilmed is an independent reseller and is not affiliated with or authorised by Dräger.

Which Dräger device families are in stock?

The listing groups into five families, with neonatal equipment and airway devices making up most of it. A few items are accessories rather than complete devices, such as carts and wall brackets, which is normal when a hospital clears a department.

Wear parts and self-tests on a used Dräger workstation or ventilator

Concentrate on the wear parts and the self-test. These platforms are built around consumable sensors and elastomer seals, so a machine that fails a leak test on arrival is usually reporting a service interval rather than a defect. Ask whether the device completed its internal checks on power-up.

  • Sensors: oxygen sensors and flow sensors are consumables on these platforms and have their own replacement cycles.
  • Breathing system: valve discs, diaphragms, seals and the absorber canister, plus whether the compact breathing system is included and complete.
  • Vaporiser interface: confirm the mount matches the vaporisers you own, and note that the DIVA belongs to the Zeus platform rather than a classic plug-in mount.
  • Batteries: internal backup batteries age regardless of use, and transport ventilators live on theirs.
  • Gas supply: hose assemblies and wall probes are country-specific, so an imported machine may arrive with connectors your pipeline rejects.
  • Calibration: any unit that has travelled should be recalibrated and leak-tested by a qualified technician before clinical use.

What is specific about buying Dräger neonatal equipment used?

Incubators and warmers are judged on their enclosure, their probes and their thermal performance, not on screen hours. The plastics take the hardest life: hoods craze from repeated disinfection, port seals and cuffs harden, and mattress trays and access doors accumulate visible wear.

Check the hood and door seals, the humidifier reservoir for scale, the air filter interval, the skin temperature probes and their sockets, and the integrated weighing scale if fitted. On Babytherm warmers, confirm the heater element and heated mattress work together with the servo control. Phototherapy output falls with lamp hours, so irradiance should be verified with a radiometer before the unit is used clinically. Transport incubators such as the TI500 add battery packs, trolley and vehicle mounts to the checklist, and those accessories are often missing from decommissioned units.

Parts, consumables and service for used Dräger devices

Dräger equipment is common across European hospitals, so consumables and service expertise are generally accessible, from the manufacturer's network and from independent biomedical companies. That matters on the secondary market: a ventilator or workstation is only as usable as its supply of sensors, circuits and seals.

Two points repay attention before purchase. Software and configuration options differ between units of the same model, including monitoring and gas measurement options, so ask what is enabled on the specific device rather than what the model can support. And vaporisers require periodic servicing and are agent-specific, so confirm the agent, the filler system and the service history of the individual unit. Auxilmed lists these devices as an independent reseller with no affiliation to Dräger, confirming condition and included accessories per item.

Do Dräger vaporisers come ready to use?

A vaporiser is agent-specific and is supplied empty. Confirm the agent it is calibrated for, the filler system it uses, and its service history, then have it checked before clinical use. Auxilmed documents the condition of the individual unit and answers these questions per item.

Can Auxilmed ship a Dräger anaesthesia workstation abroad?

Yes. Auxilmed ships to clinics, hospitals and distributors across Europe and worldwide, arranging crating, road, sea or air transport, export documentation and customs handling. De-installation and installation can be arranged on request. Buyers confirm the import and regulatory requirements in their own country.

What warranty applies to a used Dräger ventilator or incubator?

Warranty terms vary from device to device and are confirmed per item, so ask about the specific unit you are interested in. Every device is tested for functionality and its condition is recorded, including model, serial number and year of manufacture, with servicing details confirmed on request.
